Zürcher (residents in Zurich) know tens of open-air swimming places. By Limmat river, Zurich lake, etc. And known architects have worked on some projects. The structural engineer of Hallenbad City is Robert Maillart, for example.

Freibad Allenmoos is a neighborhood open-air pool, opened in 1939. The architects are Werner Moser and Max Ernst Häfeli; both are important swiss modernist in architecture. At that age, they were trying to integrate modernism with national romanticism, so they came up with subtle ornamental details. By looking through Häfeli, Moser, and Steiger’s buildings in Zurich, how the vanguard modernism were tamed here and even enbryo of nationalism were seen at certain age.

Freibad Allenmoos is a big open-air swimming pool complex with different attractions. Check it if you are around there in summer.
