Castasegna, Soglio, Giacometti, Miller, and Maranta

Posted in building, travel by tot on November 17, 2009

Bruno Giacometti, who once studied under Otto Rudolf Salvisberg and Karl Moser in ETH, made some later works around Oberengadin where he was born. Here are some works from him in the end village, Castasegna. A serial of single houses by him:

He is brother of Alberto Giacometti and is still alive!

My main goal is to see the villa with a beautiful garden by Gottfried Semper, and don’t forget Miller Maranta’s graceful renovation and addition.

Soglio is famous for its beautiful stone roofscape.

Though small village, there is an architect who teaches in a college abroad. This is their office.  Ruinelli Associati Architetti

Beautiful bricollage.
